Seminary grew out of my own study. I am fluent in Koine Greek and Hebrew, and I wanted a reader that respected the text and the people who edited it, without the clutter of a full desktop library. It teaches the language the way the language was meant to be met: in whole books, read aloud.
What is inside
- Three books, complete. Colossians and Hebrews in Greek from the SBL Greek New Testament with full morphological parsing, and Daniel in Hebrew and Aramaic.
- A translation under every verse. My own, made fresh from the original, which you can hide for a pure reading.
- Every verse and every word recorded. Tap a word to hear it; tap a verse to hear it whole and then walked through word by word with its gloss.
- Glosses with their sources. Public-domain lexicons cited by entry, never an anonymous word list.
- Practice. Flashcards with picture cues, fill-in-the-blank verses, a memory game built on the vocabulary, and songs of Colossians with karaoke-style highlighting.
How to get it
The web version is free at paulwhitehorn.com/seminary and runs in any browser. The iPhone app carries the same books offline and is on its way to the App Store.
